LOUISE MARIE & KIDS – PART 2

Your environment has a big influence on your quality of life. And now that I am a mother, I notice that I look at the environment differently, my points of interest have shifted. In the past it was enough to get to work quickly, to know a few shops in the neighbourhood and to have some leisure opportunities. Now that I am a mother, this wish list has expanded to include the requirements for an unforgettable childhood for Christian. CORES Development asked me to examine Louise Marie from that perspective and to test the neighbourhood for child-friendliness.

In my earlier blog post you have maybe already read that the neighbourhood around Louise Marie offers many nice places where you can go as a family. But there’s more!

GREEN ENVIRONMENT

Firstly, the green environment around Louise Marie is ideal to relax as a family. A healthy and moderate lifestyle is extremely important to me and I enjoy going out into the fresh air. Louise Marie offers me the golden middle way with its central location near the city of Antwerp and the many parks in the neighbourhood. Jogging to clear your head, picnic with the whole family or play on one of the playgrounds in the neighbourhood, it’s all there.

EDUCATION & HOBBIES

In addition, as a parent you think of the future of your child. For me it’s important that my little kid has all the opportunities to develop well, has sufficient social contact and at the same time can play outside in a green environment. Around Louise Marie there are two nursery and primary schools (De Kolibri and Kosmos), which are only a 5 to 15 minute walk. Ideal for taking your children to school by bike or on foot.

And to enjoy a hobby, you don’t have to go far neither. Within one and a half kilometres there is MA’GO!, a music academy that offers courses in drama, music and dance. Youth movements and sports centres are also present in the neighbourhood. In short, sufficient options for an unforgettable childhood.

SERVICE APPLICATION

Finally, it is important to take care of your own quality time as a parent. Occasionally spend some time with just the two of us, that can be good. Louise Marie has developed a service application where you find an ironing service or a babysitter. Too much work or the lack of home help, will therefore no longer stop for going out to dinner as a couple or among friends.

My conclusion: both the neighbourhood around Louise Marie and the project itself get the stamp ‘Child proof’ ☺.
