Frederik Buyckx -°1984 – Antwerp, Belgium
In his Horse Head series, Frederik Buyckx documents the connection that exists between people and nature in the isolated lifestyle of semi-nomadic herders in Kyrgyzstan. He studies how people and animals live together, how much they depend on one another, and how they cope with the relentless power of nature.
Michael Kravagna -°1962 – Klagenfurt, Oostenrijk
Kravagna’s werk is gebaseerd op kleur. Materiële kleur, maar ook kleur als reflectie, kleur die verandert door het licht en de plaats van de kijker. Het is kleur als medium, dat gevoelens en emoties doorgeeft. Binnen het vierkante vlak van het schilderij onderzoekt hij de mogelijkheden van ritme en structuren. Daarenboven maakt hij zijn verf zelf.
Danielle Van Broekhoven – °1975 – Tilburg, The Netherlands
Daniëlle gathers inspiring impressions on long walks, both in Belgium and abroad. She photographs what she sees, or stores it in her memory. She is fascinated by both the tranquillity and the energy of nature. Back in her studio, the photos evoke images. Without preliminary studies or sketches, she begins an intuitive painting process. Unique ‘landscapes’ emerge.
Guus Jooss – °1957 – Wageningen, The Netherlands
His shapes are all about movement. He looks for a theme, a certain swirl or undulation, and develops it by removing everything that is superfluous. ‘Some people say that my shapes remind them of music or dancing.’
